Finish the molding to match the trim not the flooring. Shoot 1 1 4 inch finish nails through the shoe and into the base trim. Lay the first row of vinyl plank flooring along the wall leaving the manufacturer recommended amount of expansion space between the plank s edge and the wall usually about 1 4 inch. They should acclimate for at least 48 hours.

Be careful not to pin the flooring down in the process. The floor preparation and layout are the same for peel and stick vinyl planks as they are for floating vinyl plank floors. The easiest type of laminate floor boards are the type that lock in place. Lay out the unopened boxes of laminate planks in the room.

Besides looking like wood termites are not attracted by them and they are easier to install.
